Our story

The Little Fellowship Pre-Primary is registered as a pre-primary school at the Western Cape Education Department.  The school opened in 2013 and is a church-based, independent, dual-medium pre-primary school in the secure and safe environment of the Fellowship Church of Melkbosstrand.  The school falls under the vision and auspices of the church.  It is an inclusive school, with a ratio of 80% mainstream learners and 20% special needs Down syndrome learners.  We offer small classes that focus on the holistic development of each individual.  Children are welcomed into a culture of acceptance and inclusion.

Our classes

We open at 7:30am and close at 1:30pm.  The Ducky and Bunny classes finish at 12:30pm and the Bear class (Grade R) finishes at 1:00pm.  However, during the Covid pandemic our operating hours are reduced and we open at 7:50am and finish at 12:30pm.  The children may be collected at 1:30pm at the latest.  Some extra murals are from 12:30pm to 1:00pm.  Our aftercare is not open during the Covid pandemic.

Testimonials

The Little Fellowship Pre-primary school has been a game changer for our family.  In a short space of time, since my son has been at this school, his confidence level has shown great improvement.  He is a happier, grounded child and has made the most wonderful, caring friends.  I am wholeheartedly convinced his quick academic progress is due to Principal Christa and the Teachers at Little Fellowship.  Their caring, individual attention coupled with their positive attitudes and love, reforms children into believing how special and unique they are.  It is a safe haven for kiddos, a home-away-from-home.  They play, have fun, and learn without negative pressure, and each child is treated like an individual with their own strengths.  My Son has transformed from a shy little caterpillar into an excited, self-confident little butterfly.  I wish I had known of this school sooner, as I can just imagine what this type of dedication can do to a child during early development.  I can highly recommend The Little Fellowship as my Number one School of Choice in Melkbosstrand. - Marina Kruger

My son has absolutely flourished at Little Fellowship. He has made wonderful friends and learned so many new and exciting things. I love how each child is taught in a loving, caring and educational atmosphere. The teachers make a real effort to know each child. Their love, care devotion and patience is visible for all to see. I have and will continue to recommend Little Fellowship to all my friends. Thank you for all you have done. – Megan de Kock

We are so grateful for Little Fellowship and the wonderful Teachers. Our daughter is so happy and can’t wait every morning to go to school. At Little Fellowship the Teachers have the amazing ability to love and celebrate every child. They have taken our daughters strong qualities and helped shape them into powerful qualities. They focus on each child’s unique strengths and make learning fun and interactive. There is not a day that goes by where we don’t get a complete run down of all the activities and lessons taught. Our little girl has grown in confidence, kindness and a real care for other children. She is doing well in all the target areas. We can highly recommend Little Fellowship. It’s been a wonderful safe, environment for little ones to be. A big thank you to all the teachers for your love and commitment. - Marike and Andre von Mollendorff

We signed up our children for Little Fellowship while it was being built, before there was even a roof on the building, and we have never looked back. It was the best decision we ever made for our children, educationally, emotionally and spiritually.
In their crucial early years of development, Little Fellowship offered them a nurturing and safe environment to learn and grow. Each child is treated as a unique individual, and there is such a wonderful atmosphere of peace, calm and love which you can feel as you walk into the building.
We did wonder how they would transition from this small and nurturing environment into a school with 180 Grade 1’s, but we were amazed, the transition was easy as they were so well prepared academically, and confident in who they were which enabled them to embrace the next phase of their education with ease. Our daughter had to transition from doing only half of her Grade R year to Year 1 of a top academic international British School in the Middle East (150 children in Year 1) – even the change of country, change in size of the school, change in cultural mix etc. she handled with ease – and we know that this is due to the solid foundation she had received in Little Fellowship for 3 years prior to our relocation.
It is tough to get into the top international schools in the Middle East, due to a high demand. The entrance exams are intense yet all 3 of our kids passed their exams and were accepted – without a solid foundation to their education this would not have been possible.
We are grateful to each and every teacher and teaching assistant at Little Fellowship that played such a vital role in our children’s lives. And we are appreciative for the manner in which the school was run and organized. - Cheers, Emma
